The Department of Energy says the fuel price drop which will take effect next week is due to low international crude oil prices. This has led to the lowering of the prices of petroleum products and the removal of the slate levy on fuel prices. Energy Department Spokesperson, Robert Maake, elaborates on the fuel price decreases: “93 octane petrol will drop by R1.02, 95 octane petrol will drop by R1.20 and diesel will drop by R1.54 per litre. Paraffin will decrease by R1.54 a litre, and LP gas will decrease by R1.32 per kilogramme.”
