The Department of Transport and Public Works has started flood damage repairs to roads in Seweweekspoort near Ladismith in the Little Karoo. The R32-million project is expected to be completed by December 2021. Spokesperson, Byron la Hoe says some of the work include erosion protection, raising the road surface and placing road signage, such as danger plates, where necessary. He says motorists should expect stop and go operations, with waiting periods of about 15 minutes. La Hoe says the project will enable short term employment and skills training for residents from the Kannaland and Laingsburg areas.
