The elusive lion that escaped from the Karoo National park outside Beaufort West three weeks ago, is still on the loose. It managed to dig its way out underneath a fence after heavy rain. A helicopter and a drone pilot with specialised thermal imaging infrared cameras from Gauteng joined the search on Friday afternoon, but have not yet been able to spot the big cat. SanParks say the spoor is now leading straight south and the lion is more or less in the middle of a triangular of the three towns, Fraserburg, Sutherland and Williston .
