The Knysna Municipality in the Southern Cape says it is in the process of burning the carcass of a decomposing whale which recently resurfaced at Brenton Beach. The whale initially washed up on the beach in November last year. The beach was then closed for a few days until it was buried. It recently resurfaced prompting the municipality to take other action. The municipality says the burn will last for approximately one week, during which time a portion of Brenton Beach will be closed to the public.
