The largest trade and investment gathering in Agriculture on the African continent has kicked off in Cape Town. The African Agri Investment indaba sees over 800 delegates from the government, banks and investment sector gather to discuss sustainable agriculture globally but with a special focus on Africa. As the Western Cape battles an ongoing drought, stakeholders from across the globe have formed a think-tank to discuss the importance of agriculture and best future practices on how to create a sustainable environment in the industry despite climate change. Questions have also been raised about future solutions and the important role technology will and can play in the agriculture sector. Driving this point home, Western Cape Premier Helen Zille says there need to be a greater emphasis on innovative technology that will continue to grow the sector.
