The Minister for Higher Education, Naledi Pandor has hailed a partnership between South Africa…

The Minister for Higher Education, Naledi Pandor has hailed a partnership between South Africa and Japan which focusses on apprenticeships that are industry linked as a total game changer for job creation and the country’s economy. Pandor officiated at the launch of the North Link Tvet College fitting and turning apprenticeship project in Goodwood. Together with Tshwane South Tvet College, it’s one of the two Centres of Specialisation projects that exists in the country. Pandor says this will be extended to 26 other colleges to focus on 13 areas of specialised skills. “So this is part of this pilot initiative where we hope we are going to produce many more artisans in South Africa who will be taken up by industry because there is a great need for persons trained appropriately with the right machinery of course and all the most modern equipment.”
