The Passenger Rail Service Agency, Prasa, has warned commuters of reduced Metrorail train services…

The Passenger Rail Service Agency, Prasa, has warned commuters of reduced Metrorail train services on Friday due to a one day strike by the trade union Fedusa. Members of the union together with its affiliate – UNTU – are expected to march to parliament as part of what they call a ‘total shut down’ of commuter train services across the country. They are demanding improved rail services including the safety of commuters on trains. Prasa spokesperson, Nana Zenani: “We would like to confirm that Metrorail will on the 26th of July which is the Friday be operating a reduced service, either running on the Saturday or Sunday timetables. This is due to the planned mass action led by Fedusa and its affiliate union Untu against government.”
