The Police Minister Bheki Cele accompanied by the National Commissioner Khehla Sitole have arrived at the Philippi East Police station where they are expected to interact with community members. Cele is currently being briefed about the impact of the recent efforts to curb criminality. There’s a heavy police presence in the area. It is in this community that eleven people were shot dead in an incident believed to be gang-related a week ago. Cele announced the deployment of soldiers to support the police to fight crime in these areas a few days after the incident.

  1. Will the minister be shedding equal attention to the communities on the Cape flats that lost lived ones days ago through gang violence, or the children found raped and murdered recently? As a national minister, he should be fair in his approach and not go there where he scores more political points. ALL LIVES MATTER IN THE WESTERN CAPE Cele, so you need to give attention and shed resources where it’s needed. Also be diplomatic on what is shared with the public as it maybe impact the feasibility of the operations
