The presiding officers of the National Assembly have asked for tolerance regarding security measures around the Parliamentary precinct. This is in preparation for the State of the Nation Address tomorrow evening. In the past, citizens and those doing business or working in the Cape Town CBD have complained about excessive security detail around the area. The Speaker of the National Assembly Baleka Mbete says security arrangements are justified.
