The Proteas have won the second Test against Pakistan at Newlands by nine wickets to claim the series win. They only needed 41 runs for victory. Regular opener Aiden Markram was unable to bat due to an injury to his hip and stand in, Theunis de Bruyn was out for four. Dean Elgar scored 24 not out. Hashim Amla retired hurt on two, after receiving a stinger to the arm from Mohammad Amir. In came captain Faf du Plessis and with Elgar, saw South Africa over the line.
