The Reshall Jimmy family that is pursuing the case of the fire that engulfed a Ford Kuga SUV says they’ve found closure that their brother did not commit suicide. Jimmy died strapped in his Ford Kuga while travelling in the Southern Cape about four years ago. An inquest into his death in the Western Cape High court could not uncover allegations of criminality and possible suicide. His sister, Renisha says they are relieved as one of their main objectives was to prove that her brother did not commit suicide: “As a family that’s something that we really fought hard for, the basis of our fight was the malicious rumour that was made, so for us as the family we feel very relieved that we cleared his name. So Advocate Gerrie Nel has withdrawn on the basis that his mandate has been fulfilled, he has cleared Reshall’s name of suicide and murder.” Renisha has also denied reports that the family would no longer be attending the high court inquest.
