The SA Navy has announced the sixth trilateral naval exercise between SA, Brazil and India. The training exercise will involve a number of joint sea operations, anti-submarine warfare and air defence. The cooperation between the three navies began in 2008. Combined Task Force Commander, Captain Jasper Van Der Westhuizen, says the exercise, which will be led by Brazil, will run until the 12th of this month. “For us its a fantastic opportunity, in terms of size Brazil, is about ten times our size, India is one of the top five powerful navy’s in the world today. This is high level stuff, for us it is an excellent opportunity to work with the navies of this stature.”
