The South African Democratic Teachers’ Union in the Western Cape says issues affecting teachers in the classroom will be discussed at a mass meeting in Athlone in Cape Town tomorrow. In the latest incident, a teacher and a learner were suspended after a slapping incident at Sans Souci Girls’ High School in Cape Town recently. Two learners also stabbed each other at Lentegeur High School in Mitchells Plain on the Cape Flats. SADTU’s provincial Sscretary Jonovan Rustin says overcrowding is also a serious challenge for their members.
