Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a student at the University of Pretoria on Tuesday.
The 18-year-old’s body was found hanging from a door with a belt around his neck, said police spokesperson Michael Nel.
Nel said police were called to the scene at about 23:10, where the body was discovered at an off-campus residence.
“An inquest docket has been opened,” he said.
University spokesperson Rikus Delport said the incident was “regrettable”.
