Police have confirmed a man was arrested at the scene of an accident which claimed the life of a motorcyclist on Friday evening.
The accident happened at around 21:00 in Kruger Avenue, Lyttelton Manor.
The man was arrested on a charge of culpable homicide and driving under the influence of alcohol, according to police spokesperson Captain Dave Miller.
Miller said the man had already appeared in the Pretoria Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
The outcome of the case was not known at this stage.
Following the accident, community medical service CERT-SA’s Ruan Heyns confirmed a Land Rover and the motorcycle had collided.

“The motorcyclist, believed to be in his 30’s, was declared dead on the scene,” Heyns said.
“Three other people sustained minor injuries.”
Meanwhile, police warned motorists not to drive under the influence of alcohol.
Miller said drunk motorists could face dire consequences, including a sobering trip to the local police station.
“Such motorists are only released once police are certain they have sobered up,” said Miller.
Making alternative travel arrangements could help motorists out of dangerous situations.
“We would like to urge the community to use designated drivers or taxi services when they know they will be drinking,” said Miller.
