Jul 29, 2019Port Elizabeth – The Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality would like to advise the residents and businesses that there has been an unforseen delay in the repair of the water pipeline to Uitenhage.”At this stage, it is difficult to predict when water will be restored,” said Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Communications Officer, Mthubanzi Mniki.”Water tankers will continue to be deployed in affected areas.” Mniki said that the affected areas include:Nelson Mandela Bay Logistics ParkVan Riebeeck HoogteValleisigScheepershoogteFairbridge HeightsStrelitzia ParkWinterhoek ParkVanes EstateLevyvaleJanssendalMoselPenfordCollege Hill”One of the main water supply pipelines supplying Uitenhage burst,” he added.”This has caused reservoirs to empty and large parts of Uitenhage are either without water or experiencing low pressure.”The pipeline has been shutdown and repair work is continuing.”Miniki said that at this stage, water tankers have been deployed at the following locations:Corner Donald Drive and Van Riebeeck StreetCorner Van der Stel Avenue and Van Riebeeck StreetDaniel Piennaar Street.”Residents are urged to use water sparingly.”Follow more RNEWS articles, subscribe to our YouTube channel and for breaking news LIKE us on Facebook.
