A well-investigated docket prepared and presented to court by a super-sleuth Verulam detective led to the successful prosecution of two men, who were involved in a house robbery incident.

Det Cnst Sanele Gabriel Mdima worked tirelessly in gathering information through the informer networker.
He was lauded for his sense of dedication and efficiency. On the day of the crime, the victim alleged that he was held up by six perpetrators in his house. The men robbed him of his vehicle, cellphone and two firearms.
Following up on information received allowed Cnst Mdima to recover the stolen firearms and in addition, arrest two perpetrators.
He ensured that the docket was well investigated before being presented to court.
On April 2, both accused appeared in the Verulam Regional Court and were found guilty.

Communications officer at Verulam SAPS, Cpt Henry Kisten, said “The first accused was found guilty for the possession of an unlicensed firearm for which he received a four year jail sentence. He also received a 14 year jail sentence for house robbery. The second accued was found guilty of house robbery and received a 14 year jail sentence. The station commander, Brig Victor Dludla, had praise for the detective and applauded him for working tirelessly in ensuring a successful prosecution and a lengthy jail sentence.”
