VIDEO: Two critical in N2 Shaka’s Rock collision

The scene of the accident, which left two people critically injured.

Two people sustained critical injuries following a serious motor vehicle accident on the N2 North bound underneath Shaka’s Rock bridge, yesterday evening.
Two vehicles were involved in the collision.

A report issued by IPSS Medical Rescue stated, “It is alleged that a vehicle was stationary in the emergency lane when a second vehicle swerved to avoid a third vehicle, rear-ending the stationary vehicle.”
A passenger of the second vehicle was severely entrapped.

While under the care of the Lenmed eThekwini Hospital and Heart Centres advanced life support paramedic, the KwaDukuza Fire Department used the Jaws of Life to free him.
The driver was lucky to escape with minor injuries.

The owner of the stationary vehicle also sustained serious injuries and was treated by IPSS Medical Rescue’s advanced life paramedic.
The injured were transported to Mediclinic Victoria Hospital and Lenmed eThekweni Hospital and Heart Centre for further care.
