**WARNING: PHOTOS MAY UPSET SENSITIVE VIEWERS**
A group of people have slaughtered a sheep at Clifton’s Fourth Beach in Cape Town to clean it of “racist spirits”. They were met by a group of animal rights’ activists who tried in vain to prevent the slaughter. The slaughter coincides with the sunset beach protest by lobby group, Black People National Crisis Committee. On Sunday, a group of people were allegedly chased away from the beach, by the Security Company, Professional Protection Alternatives (PPA). The animal rights’ activists are carrying placards with messages, “Animal rights as well as human rights”. Deputy Police Minister Bongani Mkhongi is also visiting Clifton’s Fourth Beach this evening. PPA has denied that it closed the beach and insists that it was done by the City’s law enforcement officials, due to alleged criminality. The City of Cape Town has however maintained that the company is not mandated to enforce by-laws, and has not been acting under its authority. The City of Cape Town earlier said it would not allow the slaughter of any animal at its Clifton Beach but it has gone ahead.
