Weekend operations net 25 suspects in Verulam

Weekend operations conducted by the men and women in blue from Verulam SAPS yielded impressive results after 25 arrests were effected.
On Friday, Sgt N Padayachee was performing stop and search operations in the Verulam CBD when a suspicious man was spotted.

The man was searched and found to be in possession of 489 grams of dagga with an estimated street value of R5000, 00.

Communications officer of Verulam SAPS, Cpt Henry Kisten said, “The police officers were complimented by station commander, Brig Dludla, for being so vigilant.”

The previous week’s operations saw a total of 45 suspects being arrested.
The operations were held at ‘high crime’ areas. The suspects were charged for various offences such as drug dealing, possession of dangerous weapons, among others.
