Well-known politician in the Western Cape Advocate, Lennit Max, has left the DA to…

Well-known politician in the Western Cape Advocate, Lennit Max, has left the DA to join the ANC. Max was a former Western Cape Commissioner of Police and a DA member of Parliament. He was appointed as special advisor to Police Minister, Bheki Cele about six months ago. ANC Western Cape spokesperson, Dennis Cruywagen, says they welcome Max with open arms: “We’re quite excited to announce that Advocate Lennit Max who certainly is one of the most experienced politicians in the Western Cape has decided to join the ANC. He’s a former Commissioner of Police in the Western Cape. In fact his anti-gang strategy that he has devised is now being used by the police in the Cape to combat gangs.” Western Cape DA leader, Bonginkosi Madikizela, says he is not surprised that Max has joined the ANC: “Lennit hasn’t been a member of the DA since he became the advisor to the Minister of Police Bheki Cele. It was always part of the deal for him to join the ANC at some stage. I’m happy that he’s decided to make his new political home official, finally.”
