Sampson attended an SABC meeting in Cape Town today aimed at engaging with different political parties about broadcasting regulations in the approach to the upcoming elections. Voting officials will visit voters who can’t travel to voting stations due to being physically infirmed, disabled or pregnant to cast their votes. Sampson says applications for special votes will take place between 4 and 18 April: “They can apply via proxies sending a proxy to the IEC’s offices also people who are unable to vote on the 8th but are available to vote on the 6 and 7th of May they can also be able to apply for voting at the voting station.”
