Western Cape Police Commissioner, Khombinkosi Jula, has welcomed a five-year jail sentence handed down to a former policeman in the Strand Magistrate’s Court. Walter Sinden, a former court orderly, was sentenced on drug related charges. Police spokesperson, Noloyiso Rwexana, says police acted on information. ” His arrest followed an undercover operation by police attached to the Anti Corruption Unit. As part of that operation he was apprehended with 50 mandrax tablets and cash. The sentences will run concurrently thus resulting in the accused serving five years imprisonment. “
