Western Cape traffic authorities says two traffic officers from Grabouw, who allegedly authorised the closure of the N2 to allow motorists to spin their vehicles, were given 48 hours to give written explanations why they should not be suspended. The officers allegedly closed the national highway last Sunday morning near a popular farmstall, allowing motorists to spin their BMW’s in the middle of the road. A video of the incident was widely shared on youtube. Provincial Traffic chief, Kenny Africa, says the 48 hours expired yesterday and the disciplinary process will continue on Monday. He says criminal charges have also been laid against the motorists who participated in the incident. Africa says he regards this incident in a very serious light.

  1. Seriously…you people are obviously not “petrol heada” a little fun was has goodness gracious me..surely there are WAY more serious issues in the world…than a BMW doing a burn out.. just sorry i wasnt there to see it…

  2. If you guys think about it ..yes it was controlled…we should all let go of the stiffness once in a while and hve fun and yes no one was hurt but remember the flip side as well…accidents happen in a split second…someone looses focus or control and in a second an innocent fun situation turns into a tragedy and the fact that they spinning off on a national road which leads to road surface damage and tomorrow that same people complain about the bad roads…just my opinion…and it eventually affects the tax payer who has to dig deeper into their pockets for these same roads that needs to be repaired
