2 SAPS Members one a detective arrested alongside 4 civilians after an operation in Bellville following up on information on a House Robbery in Durbanville

Relating to the House robbery in Durbanville Cas 108/06/2019 where a marked SAPS vehicle with cloned registration number BVB214B was involved which is registered at Project MORT. The vehicle was spotted in Bellville on 2019/06/27 at 21:00 together with a VW caddy with registration number BTZ610B. The suspects were on their way to commit a House Robbery at a Chinese National’s house at 27 Degrindell Ave Parow north. Unfortunately the suspects spotted the SAPS members where after a high speed chase ensued. Then Capt Boshoff pulled over the. VW Caddy and became aware that the registration number was cloned and that the vehicle belongs to Project MORT with registration number CEX3097. Nr 72164824 Cst L Kova from Project MORT was driving the vehicle together with two civilian suspects. Items such as gloves, crowbars, cable ties, and reflector jackets were found in their possession. Sgt Doubell pulled over the marked Opel Corsa registration BVB214B which was driven by a private person Sipho Fex 30 years old from Khayelitsha the passenger was a detective from Harare SAPS number 719101-6 Lutando Mqikwa. The registration number was also cloned and vehicle belongs to Project MORT. The Commander from MORT was contacted and had established that both vehicles was unlawfully removed their premises. Suspects were arrested for the following by charges.
• Theft of m/vehicle {2 counts}
• Possession of housebreaking implements
• Theft of number plates
